SHOOT FOR THE MOON WITH ΓΦB

a letter from our 2025 president

Hello! My name is Paris Ikeda, and I am the 2025 Delta Eta Chapter President. I am honored to be able to share with you the immense pride I feel in calling the women of Gamma Phi Beta my sisters. I hope that through this letter you can catch a glimpse into our loving sisterhood, where over a hundred women call their home away from home.

I joined Gamma Phi Beta in fall of my Freshman year. I was intimidated by the entire concept of joining greek life, but I am so grateful that I did. After running home to Gamma Phi, I knew in my heart I had made the right decision. This incredible group of women is where I have met my very best friends, and have felt so  accepted as unapologetically myself. Gamma Phi Beta has offered me so many opportunities for personal and professional development. From joining as a shy, introverted first year, to now serving as a dedicated chapter leader for a second year in a row, I cannot emphasize enough how much I owe to this sisterhood. I know that Gamma Phi Beta is exactly where I belong, and this is affirmed with every meeting, event, and interaction that I have with my sisters.

At the core of Gamma Phi Beta are four enduring values that guide us: Love, Labor, Learning, and Loyalty. Through these values, we inspire the highest type of womanhood as they are the foundation of our chapter, which we uphold everyday through our academic achievements and our true and constant support for one another. We are committed to upholding these principles through our philanthropic efforts with our work with organizations such as Girls on the Run. Building Strong Girls is the motto that we use to capture the effect that we have on the newest generation of girls involved in the Girls on the Run program. It is amazing to see how Gamma Phi Beta is building us up into strong women as we help others. I know that I myself feel like a much stronger member of my community because of Gamma Phi Beta, and I know others involved would say the same.

We all joined Gamma Phi Beta for different reasons, and we all have different life goals and aspirations for when we leave Gamma Phi Beta. She gives each of us a unique, and unforgettable experience. However, while we are here we share a love that unites us and allows us to thrive in this incredibly special experience. I am proud to say that I am a Gamma Phi Beta because it means that I am a part of a strong and accepting group of women unlike any other.

With love,

Paris Teruko Ikeda
